WELCOME! COME IN AND SIT YOUR ASS DOWN!

I have been cruising the mommy blog directories, so I felt like I should put up a disclaimer for the new folks.

I AM CRAZY! I AM SNARKY! I AM CRASS! I AM A SMART ASS!

Yep! I am all of the above, with a little bit of nice rolled in for good measure (although I don’t show that often). I started this blog just wanting to shoot the shit…yes I do use potty words, they make me feel grown up (kinda)…and after 2 + months I have decided that is what I want to keep on doing. I love give away moms and PR moms rock…that is just not what I started this site for. The only thing I might give away is a small piece of my brain (I can’t afford a big piece, I would have nada left). I will dance for comments and I love followers, not just for the sake of following. If you like who I am and what I do- Follow me Bitches. If not, that is cool.

I am a non baby wearing, put your ass in a crib, drink from a bottle and a spanking you deserve is a spaning you will get mama. I DO NOT care how you raise your kid. If you want to breast feed until Junior High…that’s cool (I am gonna talk about your ass, but that is cool). No seriously, everyone parents in different ways. I parent the way I was parented and the way that 99% of the people I know were parented. I am from the south, so we tend to not be as “green” (unless you are talking about collards, I am all over that) as other regions. That does not mean I don’t respect others ways of parenting. I just ask that you respect mine.

I guess I should say when I talk about my awesomeness I am also being silly. I don’t think I am truly a Queen, or totally awesome…I have a few flaws…..just a few! ;o)

SNOW SNOW BABY!

Hell has froze over. By hell I mean the south. Trust me, if you came here in August you would call this place hell also. Surly, hell could not be much hotter. Anyway, we have 6...yes 6 inches. I know this is like baby shit to the people who live up north, but to us...this is huge. The last time it snowed this much was 2002. Ansley was 1 1/2.

Being from the south, I do not prepare for such times. We don’t have mittens, snow boots...nothing to use to go outside and properly play in the snow. Hell, it took 20 minutes to find Laney's coat! Here is how we roll in SC. (don’t snicker you Yankees). Laney had on 1 long sleeve shirt, 2 footed sleepers, a hooded jacket, her winter coat, and a hat...and a partridge in a pair tree. She looked like Ralphie’s brother.

The big kids got off a little easier…they had on thick sleeping pants, jeans and 3 shirts…with coats and hats. The did have to put ziploc bags on their hands and then put socks over them…what! I didn’t want their hands to freeze. The hospitals here are not prepared to deal with frost bite. I am pretty sure they ditched that look as soon as I came back inside. Oh well. I did my crazy mama duty. If they lost a finger in the big snow of 2010, that was all them.

Laney did not think the snow was that cool. Actually, she did not like it at all. She let us put her down for 3 seconds and she was done. The big kids loved it, but were not complaining when we told them to come inside. Less then 24 hours after it started, ½ of my yard is melted and the other half is going as quick as the wicked witch on the Wizard of Oz. I am not sad. I must give kudos to my friends that live in the north…I don’t know how you do it. Check back with me in 4 months…I will be hating the heat then. Hopefully, my nasty ass pool will be pretty and blue by then…if we ever get the sunken tarp out. Oye!

  5. Hi April!! I am so sorry that I have been so out of the loop this week. It's been one crazy week, but I think things are returning to normal. Anyway, I'm so happy that you are posting again. I have a lot of catching up to do. As you know, we're over here in Texas and we experienced the same storm you did. It was fun for the kids too!! Nino had never experienced snow like this before. Several folks around here said that they hadn't seen snow like this since the 70s. I'm from up north, but I don't miss it one bit. Brown, gray and yellow snow are all I think about when I think about winter up north. Oh and extreme cold that makes you want to stay indoors for 6 months straight. I'll take the bleeding heat any day. I loved all the photos you included with this post. You guys look so happy! Even LC who you said didn't enjoy it looks super adorable in the photos. (Diego wasn't into it either btw.) One more thing, I looooooooooove the new look your blog has! It is awesome. I'll be spending a lot of time on your bloggie this week catching up. I've missed you! (Sorry to hear that you decided not to go with the biz you were working on. It sounds like a really cool idea, but it is hard to take a big leap of faith like that, esp. when it involves so much time. Maybe when your kiddos are older you can return to it. It sounded really neat and like a really important project.) Huggles to you and your family!!
